Fort Lauderale Bridge Information
Ft. Lauderdale's waterways are crossed by several drawbridges that require boaters to request an opening. There is only one 55' span on the ICW in Ft. Lauderdale, the 17th St. Bridge, providing access to Port Everglades and the inlet to the ocean. The rest are all bascule bridges, which we have listed below, with their respective schedule of openings and contact information. All bridges can be accessed by calling the bridge tender on channel 9. Remember to obey the law and avoid unnecessary bridge openings by lowering antennas and outriggers.

Waterway in Broward County

- Lauderdale by the Sea - Commercial Blvd., 15 ft. clearance, bascule, Statute mile 1059.0. 954-772-3987. No opening Nov. 1 through May 15, Mon. through Fri., 8 am to 6 pm except on the hour, quarer, half and three quarter hour, and on Sat., Sun., and Federal Holidays from 8 am to 6 pm on the hour, 20 min and 40 min thereafter.

No openings Nov. 15-May 15, Mon. through Fri., 7 am to 10 pm except on hour, 20 min and 40 minutes after the hour. - Ft. Lauderdale - SE 17th St. Causeway bridge, 55 ft. clearance, bascule, Statute Mile 1065.9. 954-527-5959. From 7 am - 7 pm the draw will not be reopened for 15 minutes after closure.
