The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will hold a public workshop in Key Largo Dec. 13 to address vessel speed limit regulations.

Participants will discuss whether or not to further reduce vessel speed limits on the Intracoastal Waterway within Monroe County, particularly the area surrounding Jewfish Creek Bridge on U.S. 1.

The workshop will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Murray E. Nelson Government Center, 102050 Overseas Highway, Key Largo, FL 33037.

The rules under review are in Florida Administrative Code 68D-24.144. To obtain copies of all supporting documents prior to the workshop, visit MyFWC.com/Boating and look under "Waterway Management." Additional information can also be obtained by calling the FWC's Boating and Waterways Section at 850-488-5600.

If you are hearing- or speech-impaired, contact the FWC using the Florida Relay Service at 800-955-8771 (TDD) or 800-955-8770 (voice).
