Recent Florida Keys Navigational Hazards
Cruisers and local boaters are advised to keep a look out for these new navigational hazards in Florida Keys waters.

FLORIDA KEYS-FOWEY ROCKS TO ALLIGATOR REEF-HAWK CHANNEL: Hazard to Navigation.
The Coast Guard has received a report of a 58ft P/C sunk in position 25-32.5N 080-08.6W. This unmarked wreckage is approximately 5 ft below waterline at mean low tide. All mariners are advised to transit the area with caution. [Ref MIA BNM 318-10]

FLORIDA KEYS-MIAMI TO MARATHON AND FLORIDA BAY-RODRIGUEZ KEY: Hazard to Navigation.
The Coast Guard received a report of a derelict 15ft John Boat overturned west of Rodriguez Key in approximate position 25-02.9N 080-28.2W. Mariners are advised to exercise extreme caution while transiting the area [Ref: KWT BNM 200-11].

FLORIDA KEYS-DOVE KEY: Hazard to Navigation.
The Coast Guard has received a report of a 25-28ft wooden hull vessel marked USCG in white paint aground in the vicinity of Dove Key in position 025-02N 080-28W. All mariners are advised to transit the area with caution. [Ref: KWT BNM 025-11]

FLORIDA KEYS-MIAMI TO MARATHON AND FLORIDA BAY-BOWLEGS CUT: Hazard to Navigation.
Bowlegs Cut Light 93 (LLNR 12350) is temporarily marked with a TRLB with Q G characteristics. The steel I-beam aid is bent to the waterline. Mariners are advised to avoid this area.

FLORIDA KEYS-FLORIDA BAY-MARATHON: Hazard to Navigation.
The Coast Guard has received a report of a white door exposed 2ft above the waterline in approximate position 24-43-52.44N 081-03-24.18W at the opening of the channel between Dolphin Rd and Yellowtail Rd. All mariners are advised to transit the area with caution. [Ref: KWT BNM 051-11]

FLORIDA – FLORIDA KEYS – BAHIA HONDA TO SUGARLOAF KEY – NILES CHANNEL: Fishing Pier Deterioration.
The old Niles Channel Bridge (Fishing Pier) is deteriorating and parts have fallen into the water in approximate position 24-39-36.0N 081-
26-06.0W. Mariners are advised to remain clear of this structure and to use the main navigational channel when transiting this area.

FLORIDA – FLORIDA KEYS – BAHIA HONDA TO SUGARLOAF KEY – HARRIS CHANNEL: Bridge Repairs.
Misener Marine Construction is currently repairing the Harris Channel Bridge located south of Sugarloaf Key, US 1 mile marker 17,
Monroe County, Florida. This work will continue until November 2011. There are lighted construction barges in the area; but they are
located outside the navigable channel.
