Wreck Explorers Kathy Weydig and Joel Silverstein are returning to Key West this week to head up one of their many deep wreck expeditions for this year. Key West was the Mecca for technical diving development in the 1990s. Weydig and Silverstein spent significant time there with deep diving pioneer Capt. Billy Deans. (ret). "We were excited to put together a trip of both exploration and training in Key West aboard the M/V Spree this year." Silverstein said. "We will be diving the Vandenberg, the Curb, and the Wilkes Barre, all world class wrecks." he added. Joining this expedition is David Ulloa, one of the hot talents in underwater videography and rebreather expert David Sutton, plus divers from all parts of the country.

"The Spree is the perfect platform for big wreck expeditions. at 110' long it provides plenty of room and amenities for the people and hardware needed to do the big dives." said Kathy Weydig. "During this trip we are also conducting the TDI Trimix training course for some of the participants." she added.

The Key West Wreck Extravaganza is one of a series of expeditions we have this year to wrecks in the United States. Others include: San Diego Wreck Workshops, The Mount Everest of Dives the Andrea Doria, and an multi-day live-aboard to the Oriskany.

You will be able to follow along with each days activities as we post photos and videos on our Facebook Group Page.
